Metric RecordingYou may wish to alter the way in which Lithium is recording historic data for display in graphs. For instance, most metrics are graphed by default, and you may wish to disable this to save resources in recording the data. Alternatively, you may wish to enable recording for a metric which is not currently being recorded. Start by selecting the object for which you wish to edit the recording. From the navigation menu, choose Recording. In this instance, we will turn on recording for the actual free (disk free space) metric, which is off by default. Disbaling recording for a metric works in the same way, but by applying a Do Not rule. Select the Edit link next to the free (disk free space) metric. Here, choose Record from the Action setting list and Submit your changes. As you can see, the first rule that is applied for this object is now to record data for it. A graph displaying the data that is being recorded for this metric will be available after the next polling period.
Of course, you are able to alter the Metric Recording settings for a range of metrics by changing the settings when adding a rule - apply across all objects in a device, all devices in a site, or all devices in all sites.
