Trigger Tuning

Triggers are defined to indicate when an undesirable condition is present within the Device being monitored. Triggers are used to raise incidents based on the latest recorded or calculated value of the Metric to which it is defined under. Each device added to Lithium|Core has a default set of triggers added to it's metrics. In some circumstances these triggers may need to be adjusted to suit the current situation.

To open the trigger tuning form, locate the metric you wish to adjust and select "Trigger Tuning" from the right click context menu.

The Trigger Tuning form can be broken up into four sections:

Object Info This displays all information relevant to the current Object
Object Status
This displays the current status of the selected Object
Trigger Sets
Shows a List of all the sets of triggers (ie Metrics) available for an Object
Rules

There are three forms here, displaying all of the Trigger rules available for a Trigger Set: Triggers, Trigger Set Application Rules, Trigger Value Rules.

 Triggers

This form lists all of the Triggers available to this trigger set. It shows all of the current values for each trigger. The values may be adjusted using the Trigger Set Application Rules form, or the Trigger Value Rules form (see below).

Trigger Set Application Rules

These rules define whether or not to apply a trigger set. You can define a Trigger Set Application Rule to apply to: A specific Object, Any Object in current Container, Any Device in the current Site, Any Site in the current Customer, or any combination of the above.

To add a new Trigger Set Application Rule, select the required trigger set, and click the "Add Rule" button.

To remove a Rule, select it, and click the "Delete Rule" button.

Trigger Value Rules

Value rules affect the conditions and values that a trigger acts upon. As with Trigger Set Application Rules, these rules can be defined for A specific Object, Any Object in current Container, Any Device in the current Site, Any Site in the current Customer, or any combination of the above. The top half of this form displays all of the Triggers for this object, and the lower half shows all of the rules for the trigger selected.
