Navigation Tree Pane

Image

On the left-hand side of the Console window is the Navigation Tree Pane. This portion of the window can display either a categories "Single Customer" view of monitored devices, services and Xsan element or a simplified "Multi-Customer" view of monitored Customers, Sites and Devices. The picture above shows the Console Window's Navigation Tree Pane in the default "Single Customer" view.

Use the 'Tree' drop-down menu button in the bottom right-hand side of the screen to switch between "Single Customer" and "Multi-Customer" navigation modes.

Each item in the Navigation Tree will have a colored status dot indicating the current monitoring or operational state of that entity. The represented entity states are as follows:

Monitoring Content Pane

Customer and Site Views

Image

This view shows a list of all the Devices at the selected Site or Customer. Devices that have active Incidents (fault reports) will have a disclosure triangle which when clicked will list all the active fault conditions for that device. Double clicking on either the Device or Incident will display more information accordingly.

Device Views

Image

The device view shows a visual representation of the monitored device where supported and provides two list views for navigating through Containers and Objects

The list of Containers and Objects can be seen in the lower half of the Monitoring Content Pane. A Container is a logical grouping of monitored objects of the same type of functional purpose. For example the "CPU" Container contains a series of Objects that each correspond to a particular CPU.

Clicking on a Container causes the right-hand-side list of Objects to be populated with the monitored Objects in that Container.

Metric Level Indicator

Image

The Metric Level Indicator is a common visual indicator used to represent metrics that have a fixed upper and lower bounds (typically percentage values).

In this one visual indicator there are multiple values being represented. The level of the indicator (solid lue) shows the current value of the metric.

Below the main bar is a series of triangles. These triangles indicate where the current trigger values are.

And finally, the History line (as shown in green in the image above) shows a graph of the last three recorded values for this metric.
