Downloading Console for OS X

The current version of console for OS X can be downloaded from the following link:

http://www.lithiumcorp.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=59&Itemid=147

Once the disk image has finished downloading, it should automatically mount. If not, you can mount the disk image by double clicking on the file (console_osx_current.dmg).

To install Lithium Console onto the machine, you simply need to drag the Lithium Console icon into your Applications folder.

Configuring Console for OS X

Before you can use Lithium Console, you must configure your list of customers. Lithium Console now utilises Apple's Bonjour technology, to auto-discover any Lithium Core Deployment on your local network. From the moment you open Lithium Console, it will start scanning your network. For those deployments that are not on the same local network as your Lithium Console workstation, you can still manually configure the URL.

To enable/disable the auto-discovery of Lithium Core Deployments, or to manually add deployments, open up the Console Preferences window. The Preferences window can be accessed by clicking "Lithium Console" in the menu bar,  and then selecting Preferences (or Command + ,).

The top half of this screen shows a list of all the currently discovered Core Deployments. To turn on/off the auto-discovery feature, toggle the "Enable Auto-Discovery of LithiumCore" check-box at the bottom of this page.

The lower half of this window contains a list of all the statically configured Lithium Core Deployments. To add a deployment to this list, click the "+" button in the lower left hand corner. This will then prompt you for your Lithium URL. The URL will be in the following format:

http://<lithium server>/lithium

or

http://<lithium server>/lithium/<customer name>

To  check the current configured Customers, click on the "Customers" button on the toolbar. The customers page shows a list of all currently configured customers and their base URL. The tick box next to each customer, allows you to disable/enable each individual customer.
