GraphingInstantaneous data - such as that from the Incident Browser - is suitable for viewing the current status of an entity, but when you need to find out background information on an anomoly or just need to view historical data, then graphs are the best tool to use. Lithium Console has a built in graphing engine to help make viewing historical information easier. To open up a graphing window click on Window -> Graph Window <Ctrl + Shift+ G>.
The Graph Window is broken into three components: Information on how to populate a graph is found here . Toolbar There are four buttons on the toolbar in the graph window: Icon

Main View
The main view displays the graphical data for the entities listed in the metric/graph Information component (see below) The X-axis (Horizontal) displays the time period, as determined by the graph reference. The Y-axis (Vertical) displays the value of the metric. Below the graph is the key. Most metrics will contain a Minimum, Average, and Maximum value. Beside the key, the Minimum, Average and Maximum values for the reference timeframe are displayed. Metric/Graph Information
The information component of this window can be broken down further into 2 sections. The first half displays a list of all of the graphed metrics. Column
| Description
| | Site | The name of the site the graphed entity belongs to.
| Device
| The name of the site the graphed entity belongs to.
| Entity
| The actual entity that is being graphed

Below the entity table, is the reference information for the graph. The first text box contains the reference data (by default this is today), and the drop-down list contains the various timeframes available: 48 hours, Week, Month, Year. After making changes to the reference information, you will need to click the "Refresh Graph" button to reload the graph with the new information. Populating the GraphTo populate the graph, first you need to locate the entity (in the entity browser) in question and then drag the metric (metrics are the only entities that can be graphed) onto the entity list of the graph window. You can also drag incidents into the graph window to quickly view information about the incident.
Metric GraphingThere are two different types of graph windows available to use in Lithium Console. A single graph window is used to analyse a device or an incident, and the Multi-graph window is designed to pro-actively monitor a set of metrics on a particular set of devices. Regardless of the type of graph you are viewing, you can save the graph onto your computer for future reference. To save the graph, simply right mouse click and select "Save Graph As". The file will automatically be saved as a PNG image. Analysing an Incident Single Graph WindowThe main tool used to analyse faults and the operation of monitored devices is the Graphing Window (Window-> New -> Metric Graph Window <Ctrl + Shift + G>). To analyse a current incident, once you have located the Incident in in the incident manager, you can drag it onto the Entity details of the Graph Window.
The default graph produced is for the previous 48 hours, but you can change the reference date, and time period (48 hours, week, month, or year).
You can add up to 8 individual metrics to each graph. That way you can view related incidents on the one graph. If there are other metrics that affect (or are affected by) an device that have not triggered an incident, those metrics can be located in the Entity Browser and dragged into the graph window.
